If you are reading this I am going to assume you already know about Synergem Recruitment and I will not bore you by repeating this, but maybe something that you may not be aware of is that we recently joined the REC – The Recruitment & Employment Confederation.  You may not have come across the REC before & why should you, if you are not a recruiter.  I do not want to go into too much detail of the history, but the heritage of the organisation goes back over 80 years,if you want to know more here is a link to the history of the organisation:

So we have become members of the REC, so what..?  What does that mean to our clients & candidates..?

Well there are four key areas which I think benefit our customers.

Firstly members of the REC have to sign up to a Code of Professional Practice, which means we are serious about standards and our terms and conditions have been approved by the REC

Secondly it means we are serious about operating ethically, and that we are complying with current legislation.  Thirdly it shows that we are interested in being well informed about changes to the industry and how these changes potentially impact on you.  Finally it means that we are serious about accountability and that if you do not think that we have maintained these standards there is recourse through the REC complaints procedure.

I am afraid what it does not guarantee is that we will get it right first time every time, we are not perfect.  But I hope it does illustrate our commitment to quality which I hope you experience when you deal with us.

There we go that is our first blog post, it has maybe ended up a little more formal than I expected, but I am sure there will be room for more light hearted posts in the future.

A final question, is the membership of the REC important to you as either a client or a candidate..?
