My client, is currently looking to recruit a highly IT literate business analyst, into a newly created role reporting to the Financial Controller. The role will be key in guaranteeing the success of the planned future growth plan which will see the company’s turnover almost double over the next 4 years. The Business Analyst team is expected to grow in the short to medium term with this position becoming the senior position within the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily contact with all departments in the business to understand their needs and requirements
  • Identifying possible improvements and producing business cases to justify the opportunities
  • Presentation of business cases to senior management, and agreeing best approach of implementation
  • Creation of post project appraisals
  • Analysis of the companies enquiry pipeline, including conversion rates and timescales between set milestones
  • Interpretation of HR starter / Leaver data
  • Statistical analysis of Clinical teams reports
  • Accountable in ensuring stakeholders information expectations are met
  • Building and deploying automated reports in SQL Server Reporting Services / Excel Data connections etc.
  • Working with 3rd parties to implement approved business cases on the company’s systems
  • Performing daily checks on the integrity of the data stored and heading up any cleansing projects
  • Assisting in the projects to implement new systems – data migration / testing / etc.

To be successful the candidate will have the following attributes

  • Accounting qualification not needed – but must be analytical in their thought processes.
  • Database knowledge and experience required – preferred experience of working with SQL / SSMS
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft products – VBA knowledge essential
  • You will work with people at all levels of the business so must have excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to go out and find issues and solutions without being prompted
  • Must be able to meet deadlines set / agreed
  • Full UK driving license – candidate will be expected to visit other sites on a regular basis

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Interim Management Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or QBE) to join this fast paced and dynamic Logistics business in Bradford on a temporary contract of around 2 months. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive Financial Reporting and Management Accounts.

Duties will include:

  • P&L Daily Flash Results and monthly P&L Reports
  • Forecasting/Budgeting
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Act as the Finance business partner to the site leadership. Spend time with relevant staff (operations, management, transport, account management) including time on the shop floor to gain an understanding of processes and costs in order to maintain accurate costings. Working closely across the business to ensure the most effective management of cost control.
  • New Business Development – development of new and enhanced customer propositions to enhance sales and profitability
  • Purchase & Sales Ledger – Close management of both the Purchase & Sales Ledgers for the Bradford site in order to maintain an effective financial control.

The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or will have considerable experience working as a Management Accountant. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues outside of Finance. Will ideally have experience and knowledge of Purchase Order Systems and experience of working with a Logistics environment. Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and Outlook are essential and it would be advantageous to have knowledge of Sage 200.

Our client in Ilkley is looking for a talented and  pro-active Assistant Accountant to join their business for a period of around 6-9 months to cover maternity. You will be responsible for supporting the Financial Accountant, carrying out the day to day running of the Company accounts.

Duties to include:

• Being the first point of contact for both internal and external accounts queries

• Complete all administration of sales and purchase ledger processes

• Daily processing of bank statement, including allocating payments and receipts

• Producing month end income reports online and pro-forma sales

• Ensure the team meets moth end deadlines involving invoice runs and management accounts completion

• Calculate commission and maintain records on third party commissions

• Assist with the preparation of VAT returns, including partial exemption calculation, EC sales lists and MOSS

Key Skills/Experience:

Must have experience of managing large sets of data and the ability to successfully communicate and manage external customers.
Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, preferable.
